Snell Legal is receptive to a wide variety of fee arrangements. We are not opposed to linking fees to success. We're not afraid to earn our fees.
Not every kind of matter lends itself to every kind of fee arrangement, the matter has to suit the arrangement. However, under appropriate circumstances we are willing to work on a contingency, reduced hourly and contingency hybrid, fixed fee, volume discount and success fee basis. Whenever possible we like to create win/win situations for us and the client.
Much of our work is done on an hourly fee basis. Our hourly rates tend to be less than those of larger firms and attorneys of similar credentials with offices in Orlando or even Jacksonville. Accordingly we are a relative bargain. However, there are no doubt some whose rates are lower than ours, there is always somebody who is willing to try and garner business by under cutting others.
Our philosophy is that the hourly rates are not nearly as important as what you're getting for your money. One firm may charge less by the hour but the total charges may be more than another which charges more by the hour. Efficiency, capability and integrity go a long way towards containing legal bills. Getting good advice and options so that decisions on legal course and spending can be made intelligently also goes a long way.
Something else that we do to contain costs is use the professional with the lowest hourly rate capable of performing the work; there is no need to pay for a higher level of expertise and experience than required. Suffice to say we always endeavor to deliver value and to contain legal expense.
We are also willing, if warranted, to waive any travel time charges associated with our office location not being in the location of the work so that wherever we may work there is no adverse impact on legal expense for the client in comparison to having a lawyer situated in the same location as the work. We would like clients to be able to choose us because they think we are best for them and their matter without travel time expense being a factor. It is up to us to travel efficiently and cost effectively. We can't do this in all circumstances, particularly if we're being asked to travel outside our usual geographic range of central and northeast Florida, or if the fee is expected to be relatively small, but, if possible we will try to make our terms of representation competitive with other comparable alternatives.
The bottom line is that when it comes to fees we can't promise to be cheap but we can promise to be fair. We can also promise we'll do our best to obtain the result you're seeking. Winning has a way of making you feel better about the expense. We can't always make ourselves affordable, and every matter doesn't warrant our expertise. If we were too affordable we probably wouldn't be worth using. However, when it's something important, and results matter, we'd like to find a way to allow you to use us.
